Medical records was created by Hopi
Hello all; my first post here, although I've been a member for nearly two years, I've not needed to ask anything yet, nor had anything to contribute. My respect to the owner of this site and it's moderators, you are lights in the darkness that seems to surround anyone that is at a disadvantage in today's 'Big Society'.
Anyway, now I have something to ask; having received the letter about transferring from IB to ESA, I decided first to get paper records of my problems, which date back to my birth in 1951.
O dear. My GP's records only go back to 1960 and are far from complete; of the four hospitals involved, only two still exist and their records only go back to 1996 and 2005 respectively.
Seems they destroyed anything previous and only selectively kept details of anything more recent on the computer.
So apart from having the scars to prove medical procedures, I cannot provide any evidence to the DWP. Do you think that it's worth getting photos to submit with my form?

Hi Hopi, it is good to hear from you :)

My advice would be to send in anything you think might be helpful! I understand that letters relating to original diagnoses might be missing, do you have anything that relates to any sequelae of these?

Thanks for replying Mrs Hurtyback, I'll do that; was just wondering if anyone had experience of sending photos and if doing that had a positive result. But then, I suppose one would never know.
Should add that those incomplete records are going to cost £110 in total.

I thought there was supposed to be a limit to how much one can be charged for a coy of your own records??!

So it looks as if Hopi has been charged the maximum in every category
