How long for acknowledgement

I was transferred from IB to ESA WRAG without a medical in May. I appealed to go into the support group within the month. It was sent by recorded delivery & track & trace shows it was delivered. I have never received any acknowledgement of this & I'm wondering if this is normal. Last week an ESA review officer came to my house (unexpected) he said it was a routine check to see if I was receiving the correct benefits & I was asked a few basic questions. The appeal was never mentioned by either of us. Now I don't know if I should phone them or not, I hate the thought of doing this, but is it possible that it is still being processed, do they always acknowledge receipt of appeal ? Thanks.

I rang them today, so yes they do have my papers and said it's taking up to 6 months to reply, at least I know it didn't just get lost in the system. I am wondering if the review officer who came to my house had anything to do with my appeal. Who knows.

I got my MP to complain , i don,t know if it helped but everything started to get moving for me once i involved him, its worth a try.
