hi all i was informed by text message on 28th aug that i was to be places wrag and want to appeal.my question is do i accept this as official documentation,which i find very unprofessional,or do i wait for a letter as it does explain how to appeal.i don't understand how a text message is allowed for something so official ?

first time i've heard of someone being informed by text, however with DWP nothing surprises me... would suggest you contact them by phone

i have contacted them and got fobbed off and they said thats just how it is,they don't answer the question that's asked only reply with they are short staffed but thanks for your replies

As this decision is appealable, you have a right to be informed in writing. In your positiion, I think I would be complaining to both the DWP and my MP. However, if you wish to appeal, I think you should get on with that so that there is no argument about you being in time.

thank you i will ask for a ring back,my mp has been informed with regards to my appeal,he has sent a letter asking that they review my case and was very helpful,i forgot to mention it was by text as this is more stress than i can cope with.thanks again
