I used to have my dla renewed every three years, this month renewal has been given for indefinite period, will this affect the PIP payment which comes in next year? Will I still have to be reassessed again, even though I have just been awarded the dla indefinitely ?and does pip get awarded indefinitely as well ?
Thanks
Hi TOC,
In response to your queries, If you are of working age, the type or length of your DLA award will not exempt you from being transferred over to PIP.
There will not be any indefinate awards of PIP.

Assessment from DLA to PIP for those aged 16-64 years doesn't start until April 2013 and on DWP estimates will take to 2016 to complete this age group.
All information that we have on PIP is HERE
However, there is an error in the introductory text which states all current DLA claimants will assessed for PIP by October 2013. This should read October 2016 which will become apparent
if you read the PIP FAQ and see question 6.

This includes women currently aged 60 years or over who currently receive State Retirement Pension, but nevertheless will be classed of 'working age' under the PIP rules.
For those 65 years or over currently receiving DLA, then they will continue to receive DLA so long as they continue to satisfy the rules for DLA. However, whether this will change is anybody's guess since even the DWP don't know.
We cannot at present give any more information on PIP that is not already in the blue area of the homepage and/or in the Spotlights area of the forum.
We will keep members updated as we receive more information on PIP, but it's highly likely that we won't be able to provide more definitive information until PIP is actually in force.
