apologies if i am doing this wrong but it is the first time i have ever used a forum.
any comments would be appreciated. I had a medical appointment made for me for transfer from ib to esa as i had failed to send in my esa 50 on time .
I then managed to send in my form with a medical report.and a week later i received a letter telling me "a medical practioner has reviewed the file and
decided that it is not necessary to attend the appointment.
as we have recieved further medical evidence. the dwp will contact you in writing shortly regarding the above"
has anyone else had a letter like this? is it bad news... help, thanks

When ATOS receive your ESA50 they perform what is known as a pre-board check to determine whether a face to face WCA assessment is required.
From your post, it would seem that having done this they were able to conclude that a WCA was not required and they will have returned your file to the DWP for a Decision Maker to make a Decision on your claim. Whilst the DM can reject the recommendation, it would be unusual for them to do so in these circumstances, so I would expect you to be awarded either the WRAG or the SUpport Group.
To be clear, you cannot be found Fit for Work without having the opportunity to attend a WCA, so the news is positive.

Hi s,
If a claimant fails to return the ESA50 by the deadline, their file can be returned to the DWP Decision Maker, and the claimant's benefit can be stopped.
If you are still receiving your IB, and ATOS are stating that your WCA is now being carried out as a "paper scrutiny" exercise, then maybe, they have accepted your ESA50 late.
I do not recall any other members receiving a letter such as the one that you mention.
Obviously, there may be other members who have.
You really need to gain some clarity on this issue.

How long do I have to complete the ESA50?
