As this was a new claim for ESA, rather than a migration from IB, I believe that backpay should go back to the 1st day of week 14. I have heard of DWP taking several months to action the tribunal decision.

5 weeks and still haven't heard anything, made two phone calls ( which i hate ) and got two different answers.

Got a brown envelope that i was actually excited to open on the weekend, only to open it and discover it was reminder that my latest sick note is due to run out, so I'm guessing a third call?

One other question, which I'm sure gets answered a lot and i think bro85 answered, but just to clarify.

Applied for ESA 11/11/11

Fit for work decision 17/4/12

Appeal won 17/8/12

So is backdated money from 17/4 or is is the 14th week? I've read so many different things on the net, i just want to clarify.

Please don't think I'm doubting anyone, i just want to be sure as I'm starting to make the mistake of spending the money in my head.

Many thanks again.

Hi SM,

If you were migrated over from IB, IS or SDA to ESA. the backpay owed will be payed from the date of the adverse decision that you appealled.

If it was a fresh/new claim for ESA it will be backdated to the beginning of week 14 of your claim.

This morning I got one of those rare welcome brown envelopes, to let me know I'll be receiving just over £1200, so that was just over 6 weeks to wait from winning my appeal, to receiving the letter, just a matter of waiting for it to appear in my account.

I would never have been able to get this far without help from this site, who would have thought that my £15 investment for a years subscription would gain me £1200? I'll buy you all a drink :P I just hope that now I'll get some use out of the WRAG.

Thanks again,

Michael

I'm glad this was sorted out so quickly, we have been hearing of delays even at this end of the "process", and thank you for your comments on B&W.
