IB to ESA was created by summertrain
I recently received the standard migration letter. The DWP have subsequently tried to call, but I have missed the calls. I know because the 1471 number that comes up when I call identifies itself as being from the DWP. Strangely the letter was not from my local JC+ office.

Will the ESA50 come regardless of whether I take this call or not? The letter was dated 24th September, so I'd like to know when I have to return the completed ESA50.

Yes, the process will continue, whether or not you take this call. If you have not received the ESA50 after a couple of weeks, you should phone up and see what is happening as things do sometimes go astray.

You will have 4 weeks to compleat and return the form

How long do I have to return the ESA50?

Hi st,

You may wish to consider using the PDF version ESA50, which you could start filling in now, it can be downloaded from the link on this page :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Whilst referring to the corresponding section/s in our ESA Claims Guides for Physical and/or Mental Health issues, which are the 3rd and 4th links down this page :

ESA Guides

You should also review all our : ESA FAQ’s

Yes,I have downloaded this but my non windows OS can't handle the software on this pdf, so I will have to use a Windows computer to fill it out, though I suppose I could just print it off and use it as a rough copy for the real thing when it arrives.

GP and therapist are already alerted for support letters!

The date of the migration letter was 24th September, how long do they take to send out the ESA50, when should I call if I haven't received it? Supposedly two weeks from the 24th will be Oct 8th.

Hi st,

The ESA50 is usually sent out around 10 to 14 days after receipt of the "Conversion Notice" (Migration Letter).

It may be prudent to contact DWP/ATOS if you have not received it by then, to ensure it has not got lost in the post.

The Conversion Notice was dated 24th September, so obviously I received it a bit after this. Is the ESA50 sent about two weeks after 24th Sept,or does it allow for the time taken to deliver the conversion notice.
