Work Programme Applicable? was created by dieselglider
Hi,
First post here, so Hello to all.

My wife had her ESA assessment two weeks ago, and we receieved a copy of the ESA85 last week. Judging from the Mobility, and the Sitting/Standing descriptors she has accumulated 15 points (9+6 respectively), so assuming WRAG beckons and maybe an appeal.

But, my question today relates to the Atos Dr's wording that improvement is unlikely in the longer term. Does this mean that she would be spared having to attend a Work Group?

I've tried researching this, and have found a couple of mentions about those expected to improve within 6 months or so to be the ones targeted for the Work Group, but also get the impression that the net has maybe widened. This would definitely make us more likely to appeal, as trying to attend regular, and perhaps lengthy, appointments would certainly not help her condition (Stemming from back issues and Fibromyalgia).

By the way, we are N.Ireland residents, so no 12 month limit on CB ESA as yet, though being discussed to maybe start next year.

Thanks for any answers, and also to this site for the info available.

DG

I think you may be confusing Work Related Activity and the Work Programme, have a look at the following FAQs.

Thanks, You are correct, though it seems that WRA can/will also place attendance demands. Not good. Can she argue her case at a WFI, or do the advisors not really care?

Any Work Related Activity that she is asked to undertake must take into account her conditions. The JC+ advisor can defer WRA and can for example hold WFIs over the phone, but cannot excuse her from WRA while she remains in the WRAG.
