Hello i was awarded DLA high rate both motobility and care years ago after having a medical,at home, a week after being awarded DLA i then had another medical to see if i was fit and able to go to work, which i also passed as not to go to work, i did have a review in 2002 and was awarded it again. i was awarded it for life which now i understand no longer applies, i retired officially in 2009, the letter when it arrived was like a bolt out of the blue, i duly filled it in and sent it off along with proof of things that i have got and had done, i have got ramps into my house and also into my kitchen from my conservatory as it was high step, i have got 2 scooters 1 which goes into the car and 1 which is to go out and about on,i have changed all the taps in the house to lever taps as i was not able to turn them on in the mornings due to my hands being stiff and swollen, i have got a riser bed to help lift me up in the night as i wake up a lot in pain to get me in and out of bed as i am so stiff, i also wear a calliper as my ankle gives way for no reason to help support me,i also have got a walking stick,i have got this ankle problem, have got arthritic pain through most off my body--arms legs toes fingers,i also have got either me or ms they cannot make their mindup as when i have these attacks which leave me flat out that i cannot move as i am in so much pain they say it is m/s but as i do not light up like christmas tree they cannot be certain, i sent the papers back and they recieved them 11 July, last week i had a phone call saying that they want me to have a medical and some one will be in touch, had the phone call this morning next tuesday 17 from medicare saying that a lady doctor will be coming to see me,as they want me to have a review to see if i am entitled to DLA.i cannot believe it, have sent everything of for proof of want i have got and use, i take morphine 60mg twice a day for pain,do they think that i am making it up, have download the papers about what they will ask me,but to be honest are s--- myself

Forgive me but it is not entirely clear from your post, what you are currently being assessed for, I can see that you have a DLA medical next week, but you also say you gave previously been assessed regarding your working, so does this mean that you also recieve IB and you are being transferred to ESA?

As you have previously posted that you have an infefinite award for DLA, it sounds like you are being reviewed under the Right Payement Programme, see

The Right Payment Programme

Dragon try not too worry, I know it's easier said than done. I was subjected to a Right Payment Programme review in March. I had a medical in July and ten days after that I received a letter simply saying "We're paying you the correct amount of DLA"

Read the guides on what to expect at a medical and again try not too worry.

hello just to let you all now that i had my medical yesterday,it was a lady doctor from Romania who has been in this country for 5 years, she spoke to me and has it happened i have been quite ill for over a week so was not good when she came she was here for about 1 hour, had to walk a couple of steps for her she pulled my fingers and made me try to clinch them as tight as i could which was not a lot,had to read a card why i do not know as my eye sight is fine, only wear glasses for reading, she saw my wheelchair, crutches, and my walking stick, explained that we had changed all the taps to lever taps,as are not able to turn on in the morning due to fingers being stiff and swollen with my arthritis, asked which kind that i had got rheumatoid i told her have you been diagnosed , she examined my right leg which i cannot bend /toes either, offered her to look round the house as the appliances that i had got, riser bed stool in the bathroom,my small scooter was in the back of the car,and my big one was in the garage, she declined,i did offer twice but she said not, asked me if social services came in, i told her they have not been here for over 5years, they came here to assets me,gave me a riser bed which broke twice,so we brought one, gave me a panel for the bath which broke when i sat on it,but have not been near since, when i asked them about a ramp for my wheelchair they gave us some thing that as soon as the wheelchair went on it--- it wobbled, was not safe so we had a builder in to make a ramp out side the door
when she went she said that it would be a few weeks before i would hear from DLA
so now i will just have to wait and see what happens
will let all now the outcome as soon as i do,knowing my luck i can see me having to go to appeal
thanks for the support and advice
margaret
