At least it is over :)

The DLA unit does not seem to be suffering the delays that the ESA department is, so hopefully you will hear soon.

Good luck

Hi Dragon

Sounds exactly like the medical I had under the RPP with regards to DLA. I'd imagine you'll hear quite promptly, I heard within 8 working days. I'm sure all will be fine & as Gordon said at least it's all over with now.

Chin up and all that Karlo

Just to let all know that after 5 weeks of waiting for the result of my medical, it has actually arrived today and the result is that i am being paid the right of DLA and to carry on as normal, what a relief, that is till next year because even though i have retired officially i will have to go through it all again, when it comes in --in April2013 i will be 64 in the May, if i had been 64 in the April i would not have to go through it all again
many thanks for your help in filling in the forms etc

That is good news, thank you for letting us know.

Don't forget that you will not be 'invited' to apply for PIP until your DLA award is close to its end - so I hope that might give you a bit more breathing space!

Hi d,

All DLA life awards were superceded to indefinate awards some years ago.

It is what it says not for a finite period, as in a 2 or 3 year award.

In other words, unless that your circumstances change, the award will stay. However, every year a percentage of claimants are chosen at random to be reviewed under the : The Right Payment Programme

As you may know, all working age DLA recipients will start to be migrated over to PIP from October 2013 :
