Hello

I have recently assisted a couple of people with the ESA50 form which they had received due to the transfer from IB to ESA.
Both people are now in receipt of ESA (contributory) however on the letter they received from the DWP it does not state which group they have been placed in WRAG or support group.
Neither have had to attend a medical. How would I be able to find out?
Thank you for all the advice on this site as it has been a big help when it comes to filling in those forms.

Hi K,

The ESA Award notice letter should clearly state which "Group" your friends have been placed into.

Does it mention WFI's WRA attendance ?

Does it mention LCW or LCWRA ?

LCW = Limited Capability for Work. (WRAG)

LCWRA = Limited Capability for Work Related Activity. (SG)

No it doesn't mention any of this in the letter just states ESA (CB)and the amount they will receive.
I have just been reading a thread and it mentioned about asking for a ESA85A? Would this give an indication of which group they have been placed in?

That is correct K. :)

ESA85 if a face to face took place, ESA85A if one didn't.

It will definatly state whether the claimant is in The WRAG, (LCW) or SG (LCWRA).

Either should also contain the "Prognosis", which is the recommended length of the award before re-assessment.

See :

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

You can request the ESA85/ESA85A over the phone, it is always advisable to back this up in writing though.
