Welcome to the forum, as you are new please make time to read the following FAQ

Welcome to Benefits and Work

We ask members to start new threads for their questions where possible, you can do this by using the New Thread button at the top of the forum page.

You are entitled to 7 days notice of the doctors visit, DLA medicals do not seem to have been effected by the delays we are seeing in regard to ESA, so I would expect that you will be contacted in the next couple of weeks.

The DLA medical is explained in the following FAQ

DLA medical examination

You might want to also have a look at our DLA Claim guides, see

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/dla/#dlaclaims

If you have any further questions, please come back to the forum.

Good luck

I bow to your superior knowledge Gordon.
I just had a call from JCP to explain about the backpay.
The new award of support group status starts from the date of the decision in this case 9/10/12. As my previous award was WRAG which saw my cont based payments ceased on 7/8/12 due to the 365 day rule I will only receive backpay between the dates mentioned if I win my appeal to be put in the support group from the decision made in June 2011.
I have also been told that the current award is for 12 months.

I take no pleasure in being correct, at least you won't be assessed for a reasonable period of time.
