ESA 3 form ? was created by Noodles
Sorry to be a pain but looked for this without success.

Received an 'ESA 3' form today from the DWP. :(

Rang the DWP and asked why its been sent. Basically told to 'ignore it' over the phone as my circumstances have not changed other than in the Support group. Our award was based on Contribusion ESA set at £118.56 per week.

Question :

If I don't fill the ESA 3 form in,despite being told not to by the DWP guy on the phone, will it cause us problems as we only just recently received the full Support group award ?

What best to do ?

Hi N,

Even though the ESA3 may have been sent out without the sender having knowledge that you have just been placed into the SG, and even though you have been told over the phone to ignore it, my best advice would be to fill it in by any deadline given, unless you can obtain written confirmation that there is no need to do this.

As you will know, the DWP seem to be in turmoil at present, and verbal confirmation over the phone that you do not have to fill it in, should not be relied upon alone.

Further, I would keep a copy of it, and post by recorded signed for delivery.

See : Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

Failure to return "COULD" result in your benefit being suspended, and it may be a lengthy process to get it reinstated.

Hi N,

See this similar query : www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=vie...id=10&id=93649#93649

That is not the only one that we have seen recently either.

Thanks again

That would be the same potential scenario we suspected.

Looks like we have a month to do this one. Will now fill in said item, send it by recorded mail and keep a copy for further needs in our file.

I truly hope by sending this ESA 3 form in we will NOT have to go through the IB to ESA transfer process all over again ?

Hopefully so, N,

The ESA3 is not part of the ESA WCA though, so don't worry that your capabilities will be re-assessed, it is purely to do with your income/assets, etc.

There was you thinking that you would get a bit of peace for a while. :(
