I've searched the forums and looked up the faqs but I cannot find when, after having a medical, how soon should a request be put in for an ESA85.

You can make the request as soon as you have had the assessment.I've searched the forums and looked up the faqs but I cannot find when, after having a medical, how soon should a request be put in for an ESA85.

It usually takes at least a week before the DWP receive the ESA85(A), and they may not be willing to send it until a Decision is made on your claim, although this rule does seem to have been relaxed recently.

Hi rr,
The ESA85 is generated more or less straight away electronically by the ATOS HCP, and then sent to the DWP ESA DM.
However, you will be lucky to gain access to it from the DWP DM, until he has made a decision and informed you of this decision.
I can remember, one member, who requested and received theirs before they received their decision in the post, but this may have been down to a time lag.
