SkyBlues, I notice that you talk about 'soiling' whereas the descriptor specifies 'extensive evacuation of the bowels'. I am afraid that you might need to go into embarrasing detail in order to prove you meet this descriptor :(

A valid point MHB, and well worth your comments to SB.

It can be a very embarrasing subject, but as you rightly say, SB will need to go into detail in this situation.

Hi
wanted to say thank you for replies and information and to clear up any confusion I caused - sorry.

I suffer from incontinence and did explain about it on ESA50 form and took change of clothing etc to medical but this was ignored.

On the 30 and wrag issue - i know you can score more than this and be in the WRAG but just wondered as some issues have been ignored if I need to challenge them in case the medical is used for my DLA to PIP transfer or if I just focus on the descriptor that I think applies to qualify me for the support group.

I tried not to mention specifics in my original post as I thought I needed to stay general so sorry if I caused confusion by doing this.

I've wrestled with trying to answer this fo the last 15 minutes :(

As you scored 30 points it's very unlikely that your WRAG status is in question, and it is usually failed ESA claims that are passed to the DLA unit, as to what will be used for PIP, we simply don't know.

However, there is simply no 100% cast iron guarantee to the above so I am loathe to say that you should simply concentrate on those descriptors that you believe could place you in the Support Group.

If it was my documents I would structure it with two sections (I'd have more but I'm trying to keep it simple), the first would contain detailed reasons why I should be in the SG, and the second would have brief details of any additional discrepancies I felt there were in the assessment report, that way if the DM or the Tribual panel want to take a broader view, then you should still be covered, but if all they want to look at is your qualifying for the Support Group, it is all in one place.

I'm not sure if it actually does, but I hope this helps :)

Thanks Gordon
Yes it does help as I could not get my head round how to approach this so will start with reasons why I think no8 applies then use another section to tackle other discrepancies.

I intend getting my daughter to do a supporting letter as she helps care for me.

Will keep you informed of how i get on. x

Hi
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all for the help, support and information you gave me.
i have just heard that on reconsideration (went for this first rather than appeal) I have been moved from WRAG to the Support Group with review in 2014.
Thanks again and keep up the good work! :)
