And so it begins again!!! was created by stickman1992
Last November I got my ESA 50 to fill in and also had a right payment review for Dla. I filled them both in and was fortunate to be placed in the support group. I had the Dla medical at home in June and the result of that was no change to rates of benefit. I have now got another ESA 50 to fill in so I am wondering whether to send a copy of the doctors medical report from my Dla medical as it is quite recent? Is it likely that it would add any weight to my medical evidence as it was a fair and favourable report and was a recent atos medical. I know there are different criteria for the different benefits but am thinking that it may help as one medical in 6 months is enough !!

Stickman it never end does it? I had the RPP review shortly after you and have recently filled in and returned the ESA50 form. I'm hoping like you the RPP medical and a War Pension one I had, both in July, will be looked at by ATOS.

I'm not holding my breath though.

Hi sm1992,

As long as you are sure that there is nothing in the DLA report that could be detrimental to your ESA re-assessment, it would certainly do no harm to include a copy with your ESA50, it may even help.

Have you considered : Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire this time, whilst referring to our : ESA Claims Guides

Thanks bro and Karlo. I remember you had the same things that I had. I guess that including the medical could be a risk as they can twist anything for their own agenda, but it is quite favourable and states I have significant restrictions on my abilities so I guess it's lottery time again!! Thanks for the link to the electronic ESA form I will definitely be using that

I was wondering if it would be worth using a highlighter to highlight important facts from the Dla doctors report to send in with my ESA 50. For instance they have stated that I can only walk 40 metres without stopping due to severe pain and discomfort and that I walk very slowly which I believe fits in with the support group descriptors and also there are lots of other important facts that relate to support group entry and is relevant to my ESA claim. I wouldn't want them to think I am trying to do their job! I would be grateful for any advice

Hi sm1992,

There should not be a problem using a highlighter on the copies that you are sending, as long as you have the original documents.

You should bear in mind whether the highlighted extracts would still be legible if they were photocopied.

The document that you have, giving detail of your "Walking" limitations will help, however it will not necessarily qualify you for the SG (or WRAG) under the Moving around, Mobilising descriptors, as these also include the use of a manual wheelchair unaided, even if you have never used one.

This scenario is covered in our ESA claims guides which I believe that I have already provided a link to.
