I was interested to see the CFS/ME is recognised as a bona fide ilness on that DWP list. That is useful, as I can show this to my GP and get further medical proof from him.

Can I send this further information if GP supplies another letter as an appendum to my recent ESA50?

If not,can it can be used to support an appeal if required?

Hi st,

Yes you could send any extra evidence gained after you have posted off your ESA50, to ATOS at the same address used for the ESA50.

You could also send copy to the ESA DM at the DWP office that deals with your ESA.

Put a covering letter in stating that you wish this fresh evidence to be taken into account along with your ESA50.

Put your name, Ni number and DOB on any seperate pages.

You could also take a copy to a face to face assessment if you have to attend one, and present it to the ATOS HCP , before the assessment starts. They are supposed to read it and take it into account.

See : Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

Hi,

I too am in a similar situation. Whereby I would like to send additional info. along with my esa form. Im stuggling to find papers that provide detailed info on m.e./cfs and fibro, and how severely a person can be affected and also how varied the symptoms can be (i.e. not just fatigue and pain). Also needs to be from a reputable place. Can anyone recommend anywhere.

Thanks.

Bro58,

You are a SUPER SUPER STAR.XXXXX(KISSES)

My friend is here with me and has been in floods of tears, i have just showed her your reply and she has only just managed to console herself, as she now realises that there is some hope, if forms are filled out properly.

Fantastic, i will help her write sonething along those lines to D/M. The other stuff about Mark Hoban and Harringtons Year 3 review, was that for info purposes or should that also be quoted to D/M.

Thanks.

Radhika and Friend.

Summertrain,

Please don't forget that although the ilness may be recognised on DWP list you have to show how it eefects you!!!!

So don't forget to get GP to add this in his letter/statement, otherwise it will bear no weight.

Good Luck.

Radhika
