Thanks melady,

I think I am struggling how to answer the questions because I suffer from moderate to severe throughout every day, but I dont want to put 'no' on every question because it looks like I cant do anything at all. I know it says if you cant do it repeatedly, reliably etc, then consider that you cant do it.

Im probably being daft but I just think that when they read my esa form, they will just dismiss it if it says no all the way through it.

Thanks gordon,

I know Im being dim now, ha, but Im still not sure which way to answer, some of them, none of them, it varies. My instinct is to answer 'it varies' as my symptoms are frequently mild to severe throughout the day, and then explain my daily limitations. What do you think?

Also my sister will be filling out the esa form for me, should it sound like it is in my words, or in her words about me, if that makes sense.

Thanks

The problem is that you are asking for detailed advice, which as Moderators we are not in a position to give, however, you might want to have a look at the How to show you score points even if you can actually do an activity in the ESA Claim guides, this might explain the issue better.

Hi there,

sorry if i am repeating myself, but can you just clarify something for me on the manual dexterity question.

When it ask you to answer, some of them, none of them, or it varies. If I cannot use my hands for more than 12 hours a day without pain, fatigue and weakness, then I would put 'none of them' or 'it varies'?, and give further explanation in the box.

Thanks.

You should not feel constrained by the layout of the form. If you do not believe that the tick boxes adequately reflect how your condition(s) effect you, then don't use them, just explain in the comments box.

So as an example; when I am at my worst, I cannot walk more than 50m due to severe discomfort in my legs, for the majority of the time I cannot walk more than 100m, but subsequently would not be able to walk again for several hours due to severe discomfort and exhaustion.
