IB to ESA WRAG was created by linda52
Hi

My mom has been notified she is to receive the WRAG entitlement after completing the ESA50 ( i did not know about this site before completing it), she has been placed in this as it states she is not currently capable of work and not likely to be for the next 12 months. She did not have to attend a medical.

She suffers with degenerative spondylosis, arthritis and depression due to the constant pain. She worked as a head school cook for over 25 years and was finished from work due to the above conditions and went on to receive IB from 2005. she will never work again.

So is 60 next month however due to the state pension age changing for women will not receive her state pension until 62 years 8 months, correct me if i'm wrong but i presume the DWP are taking this into account as it states a person that is state pension age will not have to attend any WRAG interviews or assessments?

We have requested a ESA85 which they presumed we were asking for a re-assessment we explained we cannot decide what action to take until we know what is contained in the report, they told us it will take 5 to 10 days and to call back if we havent received it, would it be wise to request in writing this report?

She is concerned that if we appeal she may loose out altogether? As her back condition varies she can be bedridden when in spasm to being able to walk with discomfort and pain. Therefore hard to pinpoint how she fits in with the SG descriptors due to these variances?

Many Thanks
