ESA decision was created by gay/pm
Hi, just wanted to say thankyou to everyone involved with this site, i have received my ESA decision last week and was put straight into the support group with no medical. I am not sure i could have done it without the guides from this site as i find it difficult to explain things in writing, it was a long process and i hated the waiting period for decision, it did make my illness worse, but i had great letter from Consultant. I did not have a timescale for the decision, not sure if this is usual or not. So thankyou again and keep up the great work.

Hi g/p,

That is good news !!! :cheer: :cheer:

Thank you for letting us know, and for your kind comments regarding B&W.

To find out the "prognosis" which is the recommended length of your award before reassessment, you should request copy of the ESA85A medical report, which should contain the reasons that you were given SG status and the prognosis.

It may be prudent to stipulate that you are requesting written confirmation of the length of the prognosis, if it is not included in the ESA85A, as somtimes it simply states, "In the longer term".

You can request the above verbally over the phone, by ringing the benefits office that deals with your ESA. However, we recommend that you back this verbal request up in writing.

Hello all. I hope I've done the right thing by posting on this thresd. I was placed in th SG and today I recieved the ESA50. It says 'I advise that a return to work could be considered within 18 months.' Then: 'The avilable evidence suggests reviview in th medium term.' Does this mean will review me in 18 months or that I'll be placed in the WRAG after a certain period to prepare me for work in 18 months? Many thanks for any advice,

Ideally we we would like members to start a new thead for their own questions, but it's not a problem.

You are likely to be re-assessed in 18 months, you'll probably receive a new ESA50 a couple of months earlier. It is of course possible that as a result of a new assessment you are placed in the WRAG, but this will not happen automatically.

I hope this explains it.
