DLA - Change of circumstances or look at decision

If you ask for a Reconsideration or Appeal then the deterioration in your condition cannot be considered as they can only look at your condition(s) as it was at the time of the original Decision.

So the first question you have to ask yourself is, would you qualify for DLA without these changes? If the answer is yes then you should appeal.

However, if you are not sure, or feel that your case is stronger now, then you can make a new claim for DLA, however, this wil only be payable from the date of application, whereas an appeal if successful, would result in payment from the date of the original application.
