After undergoing the Work capability Test, I was placed in the Work Related Activity Group. But because I suffer from M.E. (aka Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), I feel that I could not complete a community based work placement without worsening my condition, so I'm in the process of writing a letter requesting the the DWP to reconsider their decision and place me in the Support Group.

In this regard, can anyone give me, or supply me with links, to detailed information about community based work placements (in the context of ESA).

One question in particular that I have re work placements is this: how many hours per week is a claimant expected to attend?

Regarding the above, from a recent article in the Daily Telegraph, I understand that the average part-time worker works 15.5 hours per week and the average full-time worker works 37 hours per week. Are work placements run along these lines?

You can try the following as a start

www.dwp.gov.uk/policy/disability/employm...rammes-for-disabled/

or Google "community based work placement"

I need to make you aware that the criteria for the Support Group is not that you cannot do some Work Related Activity, but rather that you cannot do any Work Related Activity, so an appeal based solely on you not being able to do a work placement is unlikely to be successful.
