Hi there
Claimant missed two phone calls last week from ?DWP following receipt of the letter telling him about IB/ESA change. He got the number from 1471 (not the same as the one on the letter) but there was no facility to leave a message. He hasn't received the questionnaire yet - does he need to follow this up and phone the number on the letter to find out what the call was about and to explain why he did not answer the phone. He is gettng a bit paranoid and worried about this (part of his MH problems). Said I'd try and put him out of his misery! Thanks for your help.

The phone calls are primarily to confirm that the DWP have the right person and to give the claimant the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about the process.
If the calls are not taken, the process will continue and an ESA50 will be issued, this usually takes a couple of weeks, are advice is to contact ATOS if the form is not received after two weeks, their phone number is 0800 2888 777 or 0113 230 9175.
