IB to ESA Support Group but for how long? was created by norfolk and time
My good lady wife has received a letter informing her that she is entitled to contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance from December 15th 2012 and that she has been placed in the Support Group because her 'illness or disability restricts the possibility of working'.
As you can imagine, she is absolutely delighted and this news is the best Christmas present she could have had.

However, we have read through the five pages of the letter several times but cannot find any reference to the length of time of her entitlement so would presume she will have to now write and ask for a copy of the ESA85A and its prognosis.

I would therefore ask if you have a 'standard letter' that could be used or if you could advise of any specific wording or phrasing that she should use in her request.

I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone on, and associated with, this web-site and Forum for the fantastic Guides and the invaluable tips and information contained therein.
There is no doubt that without this information, her ESA50 would not have been completed in the manner and detail in which it was, and I suspect the outcome would not have been as successful.

So, once again please accept our heartfelt thanks and gratitude and may we wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Congratulations on your Wife's SG award, that is a really good Xmas present :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thank you so much for your kind words reagrding B&W, they are appreciated by all.

Unfortunately, the decision notice letter, does not contain information as to how your wife would have gained entry into the SG, (re : descriptors) nor does it contain the prognosis.

3 years seems to be the longest award, hopefully it will be 3 years in your wife's case.

It may help if you have a look at this post for a more detailed explanation :
