However, we will be producing updated guides as soon as possible so you might want to wait.

Many thanks for the link, Gordon. The text refers to the way information given on an ESA50 and/or at an ATOS medical will be assessed. But does this mean a whole new look ESA50? I have so much information typed up or photocopied in response to the existing questions with help from the current guides. There’s no point working on the 3/12 PDF ESA50 if there will be a different set of questions from the end of January.

The legislation refers to a new questionnaire, so I do not believe that you will be able to submit a 10/12 form after 25/02/13 (4 weeks after 28/01/13), but until we have a consolidated set of descriptors it is impossible to say whether you would need to revise any answers you have entered into the existing form.

No, remembering that the changes do not come into effect until 28/01/13!

I could weep. The new form won’t appear on the DWP website until the changeover, thus reducing important preparation and writing-up time. (I’m like the most sluggish of snails at best.) Obviously, there’s no point anybody working on the current form unless they know they are going to receive an ESA50 before the end of January. Thanks again for your detailed answers, Gordon, particularly as there’s little information to be had.
