This might sound daft but could I get the cab to fill in a copy form, then keep it and then add any other information I want to put on it. Will cab let me do this if they are the ones to originally fill it in?

Sorry if Im rambling. :)

Hi pjd,

I have never had to deal with CAB, so I am afraid that I have no personal experience to go on.

I am sure that it would be reasonable to ask to take the ESA50 away and check over it, of course it would be up to them, make sure you discuss it from the onset.

Maybe other members could give some input ?

Thanks bro58 and gordon,

Hopefully someone else has had experience with the CAB and will post a reply.

Also its blinking typical that I spend weeks going through the form and guides only for the dwp to flippen change the form. I'm sure they are doing it deliberately just to pee me off.

Then again, according to the papers the world will end tomorrow so maybe Im worrying for nothing. :)

Hi pjd,

Parts of what you have compiled thus far may still be useful, so don't despair too much. :)

I have been getting my bunker ready for tomorrow for several years now, it is well stocked up with Cooking Sherry.

Hi PJD

Read your post with interist, A friend who has a computer downloaded the pdf esa50 where over a period of time we went through each question doing a few a day so not to try to do it all at once.

This enabled me to have some prepared answers, it really is a great idea to do as often when you review what you have put down one day often the next day you can add or take out to improve your answer, its like having a recap a day later, as we made some errors and corrected them.

I was expecting the esa50 in a few weeks to drop onto the doormat so like you I got ahead of the game, I decided to take my esa50 to the CAB, reason was my own hand writting is so poor and would struggle to fill it all in.

I took the answers we had prepaired to the CAB adviser, they new why I was asking them to fill it in for me it also helps to bring other bodies in to help it shows you are concerned and worried about the whole experiance

First thing I asked the CAB adviser was have you filled in these forms before as I wanted someone who had a good knowledge and understanding of what to put in and leave out, his answer was ... yes I have filled in lots ... good start !!! as it matters what gets put on that form counts as does the wording and phrases that can be used.

PJD, dont know if your a paid up member here but there was a guide for help with the esa50 on here, I am not sure if its still on here maybe one of the Mods can let us know.

Take a look at these couple of examples I have come accross from the Internet, I hope that B&W dont mind me posting these links for PJD to look at, maybe you have already seen them but thought it could help ;)

mylegal.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=d...read=724&page=1#1935

Have a read of the atos guidance for all 17 descriptors on the mylegal link there in highlighted blue.

One last thing is when I arrived at the CAB office the adviser was using the first link I put here as a guide he refered to it on and off during my visit I had as much input as I wanted and he helped me a lot by using certain phrases when answering verious questions.

Hope some of this BIBLE length post helps, those links are worth a read slowly as you can pick out some useful tips ;) ;) ;)

Regards, Derek.

Derek

The ATOS guidance your link refers to is actually from the WCA Handbook which is avilable in the Members area of B&W.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
