According to the new DLA-PIP timeline, it states that DWP will no longer accept new claims for DLA from June 2013 except people aged 16-64 that are making a renewal claim from a fixed term DLA award due to expire before the end of Feb 2014, these claimants will re-claim DLA. It then goes on to say that from Oct 2013 young people approaching 16 will have to go onto the new PIP.

So I assume that my son's child DLA award that runs out in July 2013 (when he reaches 16), as it will be a renewal claim, even if it will then be for Adult DLA, and DWP will send me a renewal form for the old DLA Adult, so children approaching 16 between June and Sept 2013 will apply for Adult DLA rather than PIP - Have I understood this correctly?
