hi all am currently in the process of transferring from long term id to esa due to chronic neuropatic pain in right leg ptsd and frequent falls inability to stand for any length of time or sit due to sever pain can only walk 3-4 paces befor pain ramps up to lvl 7/10
was due for my medical on the 8th jan but requested a home visit when the arranged it.
was told to get gp to send in letter stating why i needed home visit.
dr faxed something over to them.
ran up other day to find out wht was happening and they cancel my app on the 8th as the letter was being looked at by dwp.
they phoned today and told me that i no longer need a medical :o
that is all i know so far.
any ideas what this means as it is driving me mad with worry atmo

Hi ig,

From what you have been told it looks like ATOS have decided that you have provided enough written evidence for them to carry out a paper assessment, therefore negating the need for a face to face assessment. This is known as "Paper Scrutiny", and is quite common.

The positive aspect of this, is that, as you are not being compelled to have a face to face assessment, you cannot be found fit for work. You can only be placed in either The WRAG or Support Group (SG) of ESA.

ATOS will now return your file to the DWP, where the ESA Decision Maker will come to a decision on either WRAG or SG. You should then be notified in writing.

Hopefully, you will gain entry to the SG.

Please let us know how you get on.

Congratulations on the award and thanks for your comments about the guides.

If you request your ESA85 if you had an assessment and ESA85A if you did not, the prognosis in this report is usually used to set the re-assessment date. You can also request an ESA72 which also may have this information, but may not have been produced on your claim.
