Unusual Benefit Payments

Hi,

I am in receipt of ESA and receive my benefit fortnightly. I expected my usual payment to arrive next week, however last night I received one weeks benefit. As you can imagine I was concerned, as I've had numerous problems with my claim, and was worried that JCP had stopped my claim again. I've been told that in actual fact there has been a computer glitch which has paid quite a number of people in receipt of benefit, this odd one week payment. I wanted to clarify that this was correct, and if so, to let everyone on here know of the problem, as JCP staff aren't totally aware, haven't offered explanations for it, and by all accounts many have been quite offhand about it all...certainly there's been no attempt to notify claimants or to apologise.

I look forward to hearing from you as if this isn't correct I need to have a fight with the Jobcentre...again!!!!

Hi L,

I have read about this "glitch" on other forums, however I cannot verify whether it is actually true.

I do know for a fact that a friend of mine had two consecutive incidents of their ESA not going into the bank as normal before Xmas, which took one and a half working days and 5 phone calls to sort out in each instance.

I have had this too. I called up DWP about it and it is an error, and you will receive another weekly payment next week, and normal payments will resume fortnightly after this.
