Hello, my partner recently was put into the ESA support after having been on Income Support for the last 15 years (with DLA as well). She received a payment when she was put in the group of two weeks payments (about £332) and then she received a payment of £166ish the next week, and another £166 the week after. I assumed (fool be me!) that she was going to receive weekly payments from then on, but today the money hasn't shown up in her bank account.
I've sent an email query and will be phoning in a couple of days, can anyone shed some light on this issue so I can avoid a lengthy/expensive phone call?
I'll wait a day or two to see is it comes in before I start ringing them up.

ESA is nomally paid fortnightly, however, there was a glitch over the Christmas period which resulted in some claimants only being paid one week of benefit, with the second week being paid at the beginning of the new year, so this may be the cause.

ESA payments are also usually paid a day in advance of the required payment day, sometimes payments are delayed and are then paid on the actual payment day, making them appear to be late, when in fact they are just not early.

It is also possible that have just screwed the payments up.

I am afraid there is no way of knowing the actual circumstances and when the next payment will be made without contacting the DWP.

I have had the reverse happen to me for my ESA payments... First payment in December was late by two days and the second payment for the 21st December was a week late in being paid. January's payments touch wood have been on time. Don't think the DWP have got to grips with their payment system during the Christmas period!
