Higher Rate Mobility for over 65's was created by Scorpio
I am throughly confused by recent posts and statements. My position is that I have been receiving the Higher Rate Mobility Component for some 10 years + and was classified as being qualified for an 'indefinite' period some five years ago.

Is at any point in the future this going to change so that I require fresh assessment for ??PIP and if so when is it planned.

Any advice or information would be most welcome.

Hi S,

Personal Independence Payment will replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA) from 8 April 2013. It will apply to all new claimants aged 16 to 64 and existing DLA claimants who are aged 16 to 64 on 8 April 2013.

Current DLA recipients who have Indefinate or life awards will not be transferred over to PIP until October 2015.

DLA recipients can of course be reviewed at any time after 12 months of their DLA award under :

The Right Payment Programme

There is upto date information on PIP on this thread in our Spotlights area above the forum :

Therefore, if you are 65 or over on the 08/04/13, you will not be transferred to PIP, unless they change the rules in the future.

You would still be liable to review under The Right Payment Programme.
