ESA week 37 of claim was created by quartz
I first applied for ESA in April 2012 and went into assessment phase in May 2012. DWP forgot to send me ESA 50 and I rang several times after week 13.Eventually after sending back ESA50 I had a medical assessment on Dec 12th 2012.
Atos took my medical assessment out for audit which held up the process even more. After many phone calls they sent assessment to DWP last week I called to check progress. They said the were dealing with things in date order, so I would have to wait until they got to my assessment in date order. I tried to pin them down to a time scale and they said a few weeks.
I'm going crazy and have a huge amount of anxiety. Do you think I should call them again and ask them to deal with mine soon as it was they're fault that this has taken so long.
Or should I just let sleeping dogs lie? I'm frightened to rock the boat incase it colours their decision making
Suggestions please. I'm terrified incase they eventually say I'm fit for work. Huh. Scared of being without any money and getting hasseled when life is hard enough
Thank you

Oh dear, it sounds as if you have been unlucky enough to get the least efficient side of ATOS and DWP! You have several options-

You could phone again and ask to speak to a supervisor (who would ring back), sometimes they are able to get things moving.

You could ask your MP to get involved, some people have found that this is succesful.

Contacting your MP

You could complain to DWP

Complaining to the DWP

or you could try any combination of the three!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi q,

Just to add to MHB's good advice.

Even if yo were to gain information over the phone, there is no gurantee that it would be accurate, as shown by another members experience, here :
