MP CONTACTED DECISION OVERTURNED IN 5 WEEKS !

Hi everyone,

I thought i would just let everyone know, contacting your MP has been very successful for me I recieved my decision on the 27th of nov 12 . Only scored 9 points. I contacted my MP the next day. He requested i send him a letter from my GP and any statements from family etc. I emailed copies of the various letters and his office told me he would be in touch as soon as he could. He wrote to DWP on 14th dec with the evidence i supplied to him. Today 25/01/13 i have received my letter stating my appeal was successful and have been placed in the support group. Relief !!!!. I only appealed on the 29th of nov. He had my appeal fast tracked and with his help i am now where i should be.

So, my point is, yes ! use your MP. That is what they are there for. I havnt attended any appeal, i left it all to him to sort out for me.

Hope this might encourage other people with mental health issues who cant face an appeal or wait months on end with the uncertainty of not knowing.

That is excellent news !!!

Fit for work to SG at automatic reconsideration is quite a jump.

M.P.'s can be very helpful, apparently one M.P. stated that 90% of his Caseworker's time was spent dealing with ESA claimant's complaints.

Thank you for sharing your good news! I am glad that your MP was willing and able to help. I think it is totally wrong that someone's ability to get the benefits to which they are entitled should depend on them having an MP who is prepared to help - but that is straying dangerously close to 'discussion', so I will stop there!

He was excellent,i dont know how would of coped without him. I had my GPs full support also. I have a long 27 year history severe mental health isssues and how they came to the conclusion i was fit for work was i dont know.

Yes my MP has lots of constituents who he is helping,it seems the norm according to the tv debate i watched last week.

I hope this gives other with mental health problems hope. All is not lost when that envelope drops through your door. Dont sit there making yourself worse. Get on the internet and contact your MP.
