ESA Support group and DLA

DLA and ESA are seperate benefits and whilst it is possible for a negative report for one benefit to affect the other, usually ESA impacting on DLA, a positive report will not result in the uprating of the other.

If you were placed in the Support Group because you met the ESA Mobility requirements then it could mean that you would meet the requirements for Higher Rate Mobility, as the ESA test is a stricter one, however, this would still require to ask for a re-assessment of your claim.

If this was not the case then you would not qualify for HRM, and the other descriptors are not directly linked to the DLA Care requirements, although being placed in the SG does indicate a high level of disability.
