I know when you have been to appeal tribunal you can ask them for a SOR behind the decision but does the DWP decision maker have an SOR when he/she decides you original assessment outcome?

We always used to tell members that they sould request the SOR following the decision. Recently it has seemed that a formal SOR is not always produced although there should still be some paperwork. Whether or not there was a face-to-face assessment, you might find the following helpful

The DWP's 'written statement of reasons' is more commonly known as an ESA65. I believe it's only produced when the claimant fails the WCA and it's often sent to the claimant automatically with or after the decision letter.
