esa reapplying was created by Juliahar
Hi there, I am looking for some advice. My WRAG ESA stopped in September 2012 due to the 365 day rule. My health, mobility has got considerably worse since then and I want to reapply for ESA as I now feel that I fit into the Support Group criteria. I am not entitled to IB ESA due to husband working. I am 32 years old with Spinal fractures, Total Hip replacement, Osteoarthritis in my other hip. I have not had any help since September and I find the people at the DWP to be very very unhelpful. My officer at the job center said I should of been in the Support Group all along, I made the mistake of not appealing at the time. My GP and consultant both agree that they will help me to get my ESA back.

The question is, how on earth do I go about getting looked at getting reassessed for the Support Group or reapplying all together and getting reassessed that way, anyone got any info?? thanks so much Julia

Hi J,

It would seem that your option to make a late appeal has gone as this can only be made upto 13 months after a decision, and from your post it would seem that the original decision to place you into The WRAG was circa September 2011.

You other option would be to request a supersession/review, if your condition has detriorated to such an extent that you now qualify for The SG, or you now have new medical conditions that do the same. You would have to provide proof of this.

See my previous post on supersessions :

If you have the support of your G.P. and Consultant in this, that should help.

Regarding making a fresh claim, it does not seem that this is an option for you, see this post :
