DWP have Said Now Need Pts in Physical & Mental was created by Shaun10
I received the Letter Just before Xmas 2012 Saying I was to be Migrated from IB to ESA and someone would ring me.
They duly Did on a Saturday at 4.30 pm. At End I asked what was happening about the Medical Review I was told would be on or about 12th February 2013 in the Letter of 2010. He told me he could not answer that and to Ring the Department who had sent the letter out. Derrr same darn Department and Phone Number. I thus Tried for a week or more and had called 20 times or more to get through to end up at an Engaged Tone. These calls to me costing 24 p a time. I thus Sent a Letter to the DWP asking them about this medical.
Someone from that Department rang me the other day and said he had tried to ring a few times. The one day a week I go out he rings and gets my Answer Machine and will ring Later. I was not going to argue with him about the number of times he did ring as I was in and he didn't, but to cut it short at the end he said EVEN if I get 15 points from the Physical Side of the ESA50 I also NOW NEED
to Get Points From the Mental Side to get into the Support Group. I was under the impression if you got over 15 Points in the 1st Part you went into the Support Group. However if you score Less than 15 pts say 9 and then get 9 from the Mental Side then you get over the 15 points and into the Support Group.
He was emphatic that even if you score 15 points or more on the Physical Side it does not necessarily get you into the Support Group as you also need Points from the Mental Side to do so.
I hope the above makes sense as I have been worrying about this since.

You seem to be applying the IB rules to ESA
To be placed in the WRAG you need to score 15 points or more, this can be 15 points from the physical section, 15 points from the Mental Health section, or a total of 15 points from both the Physical and Mental Health sections (e.g. 9 + 6)
To be placed in the Support Group you need to meet one or more of the SG descriptors, some of these but not all, correspong to the 15 point descriptors for the WRAG.
I hope this explains it.
