Should I Apply for DLA was created by leesa
I`m wondering if I should apply for DLA I am gouing through my appeal for ESA which is on the 25th of this month have severe depression. I have now been told I have rheumatiod arthritis and need a hip replacement I was getting very bad pains in body hands feet legs shoulders but thought it was just in my head due to depression had xrays which showed the damage on my hips sent to surgeon done and blood tests and told my blood is abnormal very low white blood cells Im worried incase i have i get refused.
Confused to what I should do should I wait for the outcome of my ESA appeal

As I understand it from another post, you are resident in the Republic of Ireland, so I am not sure whether you are entitled to make a new claim for DLA, however, as this is a specialist area of benefit law, we are not in a position to advise on this, so you will need to get face to face advice from a suitable advisor.

No I am in west midlands uk I have never made a claim for DLA this will be the 1st time Im just worried I cant go through the appeal process like my ESA which is end of Feb.

Sorry Leesa, I did not realise that you had replied to the other topic, I thought you were the OP :blush:

ESA and DLA are different benefits with the only real overlap being mobility and to a lesser extent, continence.

If your ESA Appeal is at the end of this month, then to be honest, you will likely have a Decision of your ESA before you have been able to complete and return any DLA application.

I would start by going through the DLA guides, to see whether you actually have a chance of receiving an award and then go from there.
