Hi Leesa
I know exactly how you feel, I myself have been suffering severe depression since April 2012 and I do not want to leave the house if I do my wife has to be there, it is easy for people to say get advice from CAB but to actually go face to face is so hard. Before my depression I had a heart condition Atrial Fibulation in October 2010 and was receiving ESA but as from March 2012 my payments were stopped in accordance with the Governments 365 days policy hence my depression started in the April and have received no payment since. I also have to got to attend ATOS for a medical assessment this Saturday 16th @ 14.10 believe it or not these people seem to work for ever, I have also been informed that I have got to attend a Tribunal to justify my illness. Obviously all these things put more pressure on us and cause us more distress and anxiety which no one seems to understand but on saying that my GP is excellent and very supportive but he is the only one I afraid. At times I have felt like giving up all this battling for what I feel I am entitled to after working for 38 years, but my wife keeps me going and as she says I can't stop fighting now and she will always support me whatveer. Anyway good luck and don't give up no matter how you feel we all have our good and bad days mine is this Saturday.

Hi,

A friend of mine's partner suffers with severe agoraphobia and was actually able to arrange to 'attend' his tribunal via Skype... perhaps you could call the Tribunal clerk, explain your issues, and see if this is possble for you?

I agree with your wife. You've paid in for 38 years and you are only battling for what you've worked so hard for. I wish you all the best of luck :)

Aww thanks Guys

Its nice to know that someone understands, I managed to go to see my doctor this morning and it wasnt the one I usually go to see. This was the worst experience ever, I asked if he could write a letter for me and also explained my situation how I couldnt go out and I feel that people are judging me and pointing fingers, the doctors reply "just ignore it" my daughter was with me and explained that its me that thinks they because of my depression doctors reply "all this is in my head" he had me in tears and I actually felt that whats the point I carnt do it anymore.
I have a good supportive daughter who has calmed me down and I feel a bit better now.
But will probably reflect on it again tonight when Im alone as I suffer Insomnia. (but like my doctor says its all in my head)(in other words theres nothing wrong with me) He made me feel so low that I actually beleive him and maybe it is my fault for being worthless. :(
