Reading up on PIP and apparently anyone with indefinate awards will not be reviewed until 2015. My questions are that due to the new rules my other half will be better off according to your website. My question is do we ask to have our claim looked at early due to other medical conditons. or hold fire until we are assessed through the system. If we wait and are awarded higher rate mobility now on lower rate mobilty nothing to do with new symptoms . Will we get higher money back dated when the new law of pip came into force or just from when they look at the claim.

I am afraid we cannot offer advice on this matter, you should get face to face advice.

PIP will not begin implementation for existing DLA claimants until October at the earliest.

The PIP rates will be the same as the existing DLA levels with the exception of LRC which does not have an equivalent PIP level.

As PIP and DLA are classed as different benefits, although covering the same area of disability, there will be no back payments should a claimant be awarded a higher level of PIP than they are receiving on DLA.
