Hallo Sorry to enquire again but there is so much information on this wonderful site that rather than taking an hour to trawl through thought I would just pop this quick query as part of the sunbscription service as am having trouble remembering everything-its like learning a new language!)?
As I understand it once migrated to EAS Contributory one gets ESA (CB)for up to a year.
But is ESA (CB)means tested for this year ie. can you get it in WRAG or in Support un means tested?
(I realise ESA(IR) and Jobseekers(IR)are now means tested.)
Is there a copy of The blank ESA3 Form (Means Testing)anywhere on the site?
Its such a change to long term IB Claimants as IB was never means tested and now its replacement is-its so hard to get your head around-it seems like a rug and safety net is being pulled out.The lady at The DWP mentioned that if you cant get anything then you can still get your pension contributions paid for you buy have to jump through all the hoops in the interim.
Or alternatively you can contact the Pensions Service to arrange to make your own payments into the piggy bank.I dont know but these pension contributions would not seem worth it to anyone hoping to "retire"in anything like 10-15 years from now, true theyd receive a lesser pension say about £80 pw instead of £109 but jumping through all the hoops and stress isnt worth it,.
Thank You For Taking the time to fill this gap in my knowledge.

I will try and explain it.

As far as I know from your posts you were on IB (without an IS top-up), on this basis you will have been transferred to ESA(CB).

The ESA group you are in does not affect the type of ESA you receive, nor does the group you are in limit the type of ESA that you can receive. However, you can only receive payment of ESA(CB) for 365 days if you are in the WRAG. This rule does not apply to any time spent in the Support Group.

After the 365 days, if you are not eligible for ESA(IR) then you will receive NI Credits that count towards a full State Pension.

However, whilst you maintain your claim, you are also entitled to be re-assessed if, at some time in the future, you believe you meet the requirements for the Support Group, if successful then your ESA(CB) payments will be re-instated.

ESA(CB) is not means tested, although pension income in excess of £85/w will reduce the payments.

The ESA3 form is not available for download, you can request one from your local DWP office and I understand that JC+ offices also may be able to supply one.

I hope this explains it better, but if not, please hi-light any points that you are still confused about.
