ESA review when currently in support group

I am currently in the support group for ESA since 2010, and was placed in this group without a medical. I will never get better, it is a slow gradual deterioration of my condition. Is it right that I've been sent the new ESA50 01/13 form to complete when I am the same if not a bit worse? Do I still have to complete it? Do they think a permanent neurological condition will get better?

I am afraid it is a legal requirement of ESA, that all claimants are re-assessed in a regular basis. It sounds like you have already received the maximum re-assessment period of three years, so yes, you need to complete this new ESA50 form.

You should treat this as a new application and should not assume that ATOS and the DWP will refer to your previous form.

Please be aware that the ESA Descriptors have been changed (twice), since you last completed one of these forms, so you cannot simply copy your previous answers.

Our ESA Claim guides are available on the following link

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa

I realise that the NHS often "parks" patients with long term conditions, but if you are also able to supply up-to-date medical evidence, this will help your claim.

If you have any questions, please reply to this post.
