Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Your forum name appears to be your real name, if you want to change this, then please follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I am not aware of anybody being awarded DLA or ESA specifically for their having Dyslexia.

DLA is awarded for a claimants Care and/or Mobility needs, you would need to show that because of his Dyslexia that he has these requirements, have a look at our DLA claim guides for more information.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/dla/#dlaclaims

ESA is awarded because the claimant meets one or more the ESA descriptors and as a result qualifies for either the WRAG group or the Support Group. Question 7 covers communication but requires there the problem to be due to sensory impairment, again you could have a look at our claim guides.
