What does 'full case check' mean? was created by mumsgirl
I am in the process of filling in my ESA form, as you know. I’ve been looking through all the paperwork and on one of the Data Protection sheets I requested it says DATE OF NEXT FULL CASE CHECK 30/07/13 – any ideas what that means? Please tell me they are not going to send me another ESA form for that Right Payment thing?

Also, do you think I could send a copy of my last DLA award (HRC/LRM) as 'evidence' as I think some of the things are appropriate like care, prompting and supervision

Hi mg,

You say you are filling out your ESA form, is that your ESA50? Is this your first application for ESA? Does the 'full case check' comment relate to your DLA award?

Yes, you can certainly send in the DLA paperwork as evidence if it relates to ESA descriptors.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi mg,

I suspect it refers to the recommended date for your ESA reassessment. (The Prognosis)

As you know the prognosis is only a recommendation, i.e. an award of SG with a 2 year prognosis, could actually be reassessed any time after 3 months from the date of the award.

In the majority of cases, a claimant will receive a new ESA50, (as you have) several months before the end of a prognosis. This is to allow for the administration part of the reassessment. (ESA50, face to face if needed, etc, etc)

As previously advised, any evidence that supports your reassessment can be included.

Please try and keep all your related queries to one topic. (thread) :)

Sorry, I don't know how to keep track of things apart from searching through all the posts. I used to get email notiifications with the old system and found it easier to search my emails. I had 2 questions to ask and now I can only think of one!

With regards to the side effects of anti depressents I suffer the usual things like drowziness etc, and as a result it affects my concentration. With regards to the actual benefits of taking anti depressants, there's not that much. They keep me 'steady' and stop my condition getting worse (my condition gets worse when I stop taking them), but they don't 'cure' me. I'm worried - Could the lovely HCP say that the risks of taking the pills out weigh the benefits, so that if I stopped taking them I would be able to concentrate better?

Sorry, forgot to add at the end - would it be better if I didn't mention the side effects?

Hi mg,

The easiest way to gain access to a topic thread that you have previously started is to Bookmark or Favourite the page whilst the topic is open. This is generally done in the top right of your Internet Browser.

It will then store that page in your Bookmarks or Favourites, and you can simply click on the drop down link to return to it.

With regards to both your queries, it is important that you do include any adverse side effects caused by having to take prescribed medication.

As you rightly state, sometimes the side effects can be as bad as the actual limitations caused by the medical conditions.

It is not for ATOS to say that you should or shouldn't take prescribed medication, that is a matter for your G.P. or other treating HCP.

There is usually a pamphlet included with medication that may list the actually side effects that you suffer, there will also be information on the Internet regarding side effects caused by medication.

You could include either/both to support the fact that you suffer from the recognised side effects.
