Having done the phone call re ESA1 claim yesterday, today I have a text asking me to send my fit notes asap, but I do not have an address yet and understood yesterday when doing the ESA1 phone call that the statement and letters from DWP will be sent in the post and that I should send my fit notes in response to receiving that correspondence. Should I ignore the text and wait for the letter do you think?

Payment of the ESA Assessment rate requires there to be an active Fit Note on file but it will take 7-10 days for you claim to be accepted, you can either wait for them to write to you with a return address or call them on Tuesday (I'd avoid Monday if you can) and ask for one.

Hi, don t know if you can help with this, its just that I did my ESA claim over the phone, then received the statement but there were inaccuracies on the statement where the guy had punched in incorrect info. So I rang the telephone number on the letter that came with the statement to explain the mistakes. They said as there were so many rather than they taking down the corrected info that they would get the office dealing with my claim to phone me. So i got the phone call from this lady from the Basildon office who said she wanted to go home but insisted on quickly correcting the form which she could see on her computer. But she was in a hurry and so i was not able to go, through it carefully with her. I kept asking if someone else could take over to go through it thoroughly or if I could amend the statement and send it in but she insisted on continuing it herself. She then insisted she had enough info to process the claim but I still had mistakes and extra info to give. But she insisted she had all she needed. I am concerned because she is not sending me a copy of her amendments and is pushing it through the process. On my form there were quite a few housing benefit questions where there were inaccuracies/missing info but she said they did not need to be addressed and that she had nothing to do with housing benefit. Is this normal?

Cruella

If you still think that there are errors then contact the DWP again, if nothing else, ask for new copy of the ESA1 so that you can validate the contents.
