How do I get a copy, the Basildon lady where my claim is being handled, this Basildon lady who was attempting to put right the mistakes in the customer statement said I could not have a copy of the amended statement. She said she had made the alterations and had all she needed to process the claim and it was going over to the decision maker because of the involvement of the buy to let. But I was not happy that that she did have all the info. I rang up this morning the enquiry the 0345 608 8545 line. They said their advisor I spoke to originally about the mistakes in the customer statement should have noted down all the mistakes in the customer statement and sent them across to Basildon. The enquiries 0345 608 8545 line people could not access and see my actual customer statement this morning but said my claim had been registered but the process not started, although when I rang again this afternoon I was told the process had started. I do not know what info is being used or whether the Basildon lady even made any rectifications successfully.(I did not have any confidence in her) I asked for a call to be made to me by Basildon but not received it yet. There is definitely some info that they do not have.(the info I did not get across to the Basildon lady cos she wanted to go home) Can they make changes to the info on the customer statement once the claim process has started? I dont know what to do , the more I speak to the DWP about this, the more I get confused by their conflicting info. Who should have been taking the mistake in the customer statement info from me - should it have been the enquiries 0345 608 8545 line people or was it right for the Basildon lady at the office dealing with my claim to take the info from me? Who can tell me what info exactly has ended up on my customer statement?

OK so you are waiting for a call back, then you need to wait for this to happen. The DWP moves at it's own pace, their calling you back is the next stage in their process to deal with your issues.

Got my call back, apparently the process of the claim has not started. I can send in my customer statement with my alterations on it which can be dealt with before the processing. The member of staff was rather rude on both her phone calls to me, I actually said today 'no need to be rude to me just because I dont understand'. Very unlike me to say something like that and I have never put in a complaint about any one in my life but really feel like doing so in this case.........

Hi, I am already starting to panic that if my health does not improve, at some time in the future I will be having to manage on just IR ESA. My OCD costs a fortune in water, elec, disposable gloves, soap etc. I am so annoyed that I missed the chance of claiming CB ESA. Is CB ESA completely extra money? I mean if you ONLY receive IR ESA, are there any extras to help, that make up for the fact that you are not getting the additional CB ESA?

Hi Cruella,

I think you are mistaken - there is no 'extra' that comes with CB ESA rather than IR. In fact, with IR you would automatically be entitled to other benefits (such as free prescriptions and ESA premiums) that are not available to claimants who get only CB ESA.
