As long as they have accepted it, which they have told you that they have, then it's OK, just remember to get a new Note within the six months.

Yes, I'm going with that. So stressed by this ESA process and soon it'll all be just for my national ins stamps/credits. I'm only getting a tiny bit of ESA whilst waiting for the buy to let to sell.Anyway the sale of the buy to let is almost through which means I 'll have more that the 16000 pounds soon and ESA payment will stop, fair enough. Today the DM said when I get the money from the buy to let I can use it for buying myself a home. She said my ESA payments can start again after I have bought the home. The big problem is that I will not have enough money to buy a home outright and was hoping to do this shared ownership scheme which is for people on ESA. But as I am coming off ESA once I get the buy to let money I won't be able to start the shared ownership scheme. I know this is not particularly your area, but I so desperately want a permanent home rather than renting. It seems such a shame to end up using my buy to let money (money from when my ex bought me out of the family home) just to live off and pay rent to my landlord. Any ideas?

You don't come off ESA when your savings go above £16,000 its' just your payments that stop.

I know but you have to be in receipt of ESA payments to start the scheme. I can tell the scheme people that I would be in receipt of ESA payments the minute the shared home purchase completed but I am pretty sure their criteria is that you have to be in receipt of ESA payments before they start a purchase for you

If the money was coming directly from the sale of my home she said I could have stayed on ESA payments whilst I looked for a new home and therefore could have done this special shared ownership scheme but because the money from the sale of my home to my ex has been in the buy to let, I am not allowed to stay on ESA payments whilst looking for a home

So annoyed by the bad advice I received from citizens advice telephone people back then, legally I could have stayed in my home with my son right up to this august, The house has gone up 130 thousand since i let my ex buy me out. If I had been given correct advice by CAB I would be coming out of the family home now with more than twice the money and DWP would be letting me stay on ESA payments whilst I proceeded getting a shared ownership home with this scheme i have been referring to. I do not believe CAB volunteers should be manning the phones and giving out advice when untrained. It basically has resulted in myself and my son never getting a permanent home. Rant over:)
