There's no harm in you speaking to your GP and indeed the others that have written to, but you need to be cautious that they do not feel that you are putting pressure on them, that's when you get comments like "the patient tells me...", which usually signifies that it is information directly from the claimant rather from their own observations.

Thank you. i may contact them but am tempted to leave it as I feel thoroughly drained by it all. So, although that the assessor has done and sent the report, I assume the fact that initially they asked for further evidence from my health providers means that the case will be slowed down. I assume that although the decision makers will have the assessors report that the DM will not make a final decision until the further evidence is received, Or do you think the DM will go ahead as he or she has the assessors report and then only review if any inconsistencies turn up in the further evidence?

I would expect them to wait until ATOS have confirmed that they have no more input to the report.

Am I right in saying the assessor does the scoring, then the DM considers the whole thing? Also if I wanted a copy of the report, would I request that from the DWP but I would not be able to have it sent special delivery I assume?

Assessors make a recommendation, Decision/Case Managers make the Decision.

You can order a copy of the assessment report from the DWP, they will only send it by their normal second class post.

Thank you, do you know of how quickly a claimant can hear if they have been given an award , I mean how quick from the assessors report having been done to when the DWP notify the claimant of their decision
