PIP claim and evidence

Hi, we actually posted my sons MR letter saying reasons why we disagreed with his only 2 points awarded and new evidence as in a Uni study needs assessment report about 9 days before the deadline. (special next day delivery). Only put his NI number on each page of the additional evidence, hope that ok, it was all together with treasury tag. Sent last saturday, not received a text acknowledging its receipt yet. The thing is we originally sent an occupational therapy report when he first claimed, this was a private assessment especially to help with his transition to uni. The assessor seemed to virtually ignore this
report , actually saying at one point that 'mother says' rather than the occupational therapist says. The trouble is the occupational therapist report says things like 'Luke (fictional name) has a history of poor coordination and sensory processing difficulties'. Somewhere I have a report that is much more geared to specific diagnosis but this is eleven years old. Should I have tried to locate this and sent it - or would it have been too old?

I doubt that an eleven year old report will carry much, if any weight, especially for a young person.

If you want to confirm that they have received the additional information then give the DWP a call.

Be aware, revision rates at MR are very low so don't be upset if it comes back with the same Decision, rates at appeal are significantly higher.

I know, thank you. If we decide to appeal, I'll try harder to find the report just in case it helps. I am not sure I can speak with them to see if they have received our MR paperwork. My son cannot do phone calls and is away at uni. Previously I have phoned with him next to me and he has managed to give permission for them to speak with me. But I'll give it a shot because they would only be confirming receipt and not particularly giving out info about my son

Hi Gordon

Is it just PIP awards/ claims from Nov 16 that are being reviewed for PIP mobility?

Hi Gordon

I know with 'Planning and following journeys' that e) cannot undertake any journey as it would cause OPD to the claimant, that it has to be for the majority of the time, but in particular if you only managed to go out for say 5 minutes late evening and not in the daytime at all then a day like this would count as a day you could indeed actually go out.
Would this be the same for f)
