Hi Gordon. No I rang to request the mr and a copy of the report, then sent a letter recorded delivery, in it I stated that I would be sending another letter explaining how I felt they overlooked the decisions and that I would send it by recorded delivery before the month date expires. I have not received the report yet.

It's usually 7-10 days

Hi, I have been reading your appeal guides and can see how you can prepare and send in your reasons why you are challenging the decisions given when at the appeal stage but what about the MR stage. I have written to DWP to say that I will be sending in details about why I disagree with the points given, can I still do this? And as the hp report is due (hopefully) can I let the DWP know of anything I consider to be misleading? I would like to set out just the reasons why I think I should have been rewarded more points for some of the descriptors as in the 'preparing & cooking a simple meal'. I have only been awarded 2 points as they say I use an aid, when in fact I explained that because of my reumatoid arthritis that my hands and wrists are so painful that I cannot chop food, I have tried using aids but this still causes pain so I have to stop, also cannot lift pans, plates, etc, I have burnt myself and cut myself when trying. My husband has to do this when he gets home. This is only one of the descriptors where I feel I should have been given more points. I received 11 points and standard rate whereas I feel I should have got more. Can write to DWP to say why I disagree before the MR month is out. Also I scored zero on mobility which is so wrong, I just wonder what the hp report is going to say. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Tintin,

You don't have to wait a month to submit the MR request, you can do it as soon as you like. You don't have to go into great detail initially.

At some stage you will have to explain how and why you believe you should have scored more points. Don't waste time and energy pulling apart the assessor's report as this, in itself, will not get you the PIP award you believe you deserve. The PIP guide explains the process.

You will have a better idea of why you scored as you did when the assessor's report arrives.

Thankyou Mrs hurtyback. I rang to request the MR on 15th July and followed this up in writing (recorded del) on 19th July. Am I right in thinking that I only have two weeks left this Friday to get my decisions back to them? If so I had better get going
